I’ve been wanting to make this hat for a VERY long time but couldn’t find the right yarn. In comes Peace Fleece! I picked this up at Fancy Tiger & it’s perfect, tweedy & a beautiful teal! Just got done winding up the skein into a ball (IDK why I ALWAYS forget to ask at the store!) so just need to bust out a swatch before starting!

11/19 - I didn’t get around to swatching. I’ll just modify it as I go. Took a while to realize this is top down. I really hate top down hats but I like this pattern. Started in on the increases. I swear I messed up every row about 3-4 times. FRUSTRATING!

11/20 - I think these increases suck. Why can’t they just be even? After getting totally screwed up by the second set of increases I decided to do it a simpler way. For each increase row I just did K3 KF&B, then K4 KF&B, K5 KF&B, etc.

11/22 - The brim is really confusing but after I realized you just go back & forth, moving over one stitch at a time around the brim, it made sense. Although knowing this NOW, I would have made the top part shorter.

11/23 - The brim took FOREVER. I also had trouble figuring out how to fold it to look like the picture. I thought the brim in the picture was folded up to make that edge, but the top edge is just where the brim is knitted to the top part. It is really huge so I might throw it in the dryer for a few minutes to shrink it up. Overall though, this is a really bad ass hat! Now I just need some buttons.

12/6 - Stopped back by Fancy Tiger & picked up some cool palm nut buttons, blue with brown edge. Will sew them on tonight & take some new pix!!!

12/7 - Today is my feel-like-crap-so-I’m-getting-around-to-finishing-all-the-boring-projects day. I absolutely love the buttons, plus they look great on the hat. So cute.
