These ears are for one of my D&D characters. She’s a firbolg druid (as yet unnamed) and she’s a skilled fiber artist. Her weapon is a quarterstaff that she uses as a distaff when she’s not in combat and her druidic focus is a drop spindle made of living wood from an important tree in her village. She’s a humble, nature-loving character who is beautiful in a bucolic, bovine sort of way and I thought it appropriate that I made her ears out of some of the first yarn I ever spun.
The llama is a bit fuzzy and has no lustre whatsoever and the white is uneven and both over- and under-spun. The combo of the two together makes these ears look believably animalian and I’m happy with how they turned out. I’m going to incorporate them into a headpiece that has a lot of flowers and leaves to create a full character effect.
This pattern is very versatile and could be used for a million different things. These ears can be shaped and worn up or down - or straight out! - to make a variety of animal ears or even yoda or mogwai ears or things like that. I think this is probably not the last time I’ll be using this pattern.
