Haven’t been knitting at all this winter. Wanted a knit-in-the-dark project that would create its own visual whimsy, to get going again.

Used most of one skein to make long-calf socks that match. Two little balls (plus one additional skein) remaining.

color note: hard to photograph exactly…not quite psychedelic, but very JOLLY socks!

reminder for 2nd sock:
60-stitch plain sock, 2x2 rib for cuff, then knit all.
Heel flap (30 st)
Row 1: s1 as if to purl, k1, s1 end with k1.
Row 2: s1 as if to purl, purl to last stitch, k1.
Repeat for total of 36 rows.
Turn heel:
k17, ssk, k1, turn
sl1, p5, p2tog, p1, turn
sl1, k6, ssk, k1, turn
sl1, p7, p2tog, p1, turn
etc, for 18 st heel
Use star toe to keep stripes going.

good thing socks keep! finally saw Sue P today and presented these socks. She loves them :)
