Instead of crocheted eyes, I used 10mm cabochons and added some eyelids.

Eyelids:

Ch5. Starting in the 2nd chain from the hook:
1slst, 2sc, 1slst. FO leaving a yarn tail for sewing.

Used black acrylic paint and a fine paintbrush to make the stripes, and a second brush to blend and make the stripes “smokey”.

I made the head slightly bigger (with one extra set of increases), following the note left by the designer in the head section.

I really like how the cat turned out. The pattern may be quite challenging for beginner crocheters though. The terminology is a bit different and reminds me of some Dutch and German patterns I used in the past. E.g. Double every 3rd stitch.

For the assembly, I mainly relied on the pictures. There wasn’t a lot of info on the position of the parts, so assembling the cat took some time and required lots of pins.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed this project and will probably make other cats with this pattern.

Size: 15cm tall (from paw to tip of the ear), 30cm long (incl. tail).
