Modifications:

• No horn
• Added wings
• Ears: outer and inner parts made in the same colour.
• Mane: the fringe was made shorter (about half the length).
• All hair locks (mane and tail) were made with the usual “yarn over” technique, so they wouldn’t be so curly. For everything else I used “yarn under / yarn over”.

Although I used DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, I believe the yarn under technique was the main reason my Rainbow Dash turned out a lot smaller (27cm) than the size suggested on the pattern (40cm). I’m happy with the size of my pony nevertheless.

For the eyes I used embroidery thread and a 2mm hook.

I changed the way the wings are joined. Really happy with their size and shape though.

The cutie mark was embroidered.

I used around 85g of main colour for this project, less than 2 full skeins.

The mane and tail took me 2 days to finish.

Comet the Unicorn is an amazing pattern, extremely well written and detailed. I will definitely use this again to make more My Little Pony characters in the future.
