I have had several disappointing experiences with crochet lately, so I am back to my comfort zone : baby blankets. They are easy,fast,fun and don’t need extra processing or accessories like purses or bags or clothes do.
I am trying my hand at the sweetest honeycomb blanket there is. The yellow I used shines like the sun or like egg yokes. Refreshing and reinvigorating. Let’s see what it will look like.

I wish I could write ‘in whisper’. It’s night time now, and inspite of the darkness, the yellow yarn is shining so brightly, it warms my heart. It’s only been 3 hours since I started. 7 hexagons are already done. So satisfying to finish each one of them ,not to mention how perfect and symmetrical each hexagon looks. I could go on all night doing this.

I have just finished connecting all the different hexagons together and weaving in all the ends.
I must say as smooth and easy as making the hexagons was,connecting them was a different story. It’s a yarn consuming process (I have used a whole skein of white), especially that you can’t join continuously. You have to cut the yarn at some point and start somewhere else. So you can imagine the heaps of ends to weave in. If I were to redo this blanket I would definitely make larger hexagons to avoid this problem.
I think I understand now why hexagons are not as popular as square blocks.
After this rant,I can carry on to inform you that the blanket looks so fresh and lively, I could have used it myself if it weren’t too small. I can’t wait to see it warming a beautiful newcomer to this world
