I have already taken the time to enjoy making a simple Granny Square (previous project).
What I would like to do today, is turn this simple block to a warm baby blanket with the lovely yarn I have.
From my personal experience, Manarola Yarn is very soft and warm (prefect for a baby). I also received a few hanks of natural, undyed rudimentarily spun pure wool. No color is even added, making it a bio dream come true (I washed it just in case). I also found some pure cotton yarn freely spun and undyed in the local market. This is also dream bio yarn at little cost.
Now, before I actually start on my project, I would like to express my view on a question often asked in many crochet fora. How can I increase my speed?
I think I am going to follow the coffee example. There are times when you need your coffee, but you need it fast, and on the go. There are other times when you need your coffee on a cold day, slowly sipping it away while savoring every sip.
I think I live with crochet in the same way. Some days I need to crochet as an anti-stress mechanism, or I need to make something fast. Those days I just crochet the &$% out of my yarn and hook. Other times, Like today, I just want to enjoy the feel of the yarn, the change in colors and textures in the simplest Granny block. No fancy stitches, and no crochet acrobatics. I am crocheting at low speed, maximum enjoyment mode. I don’t want to rush this, nor make it elaborate. I just want to enjoy the beauty of simplicity . Already the gradient yarn, and different textures have a lot going on. I don’t want to distract from that. I hope you don’t mind this long entry and the many pics I intend to share through out this blanket. It will not be made with love only, but with beauty as well.

It’s finished! I wish I could have made it bigger, but I have so many other projects to make. I just want to thank this blanket for the serenity it brought me,and the love that filled my heart..
And now to look for a bundle of joy to wrap it with
