Nov 8/09 I have wanted to make this blanket for a while and now I have all this beautiful hand dyed Van Der Rock yarn to make it with! I have a feeling that it may take forever - especially since my friends all seem to be pregnant right now - but I know it will be beautiful when finished.

Nov 18/12 It has been a long time since I started this blanket and progress is slow. I have 17/42 squares knit. That’s why i’ve decided to rename this project and call for help. I’ve asked a bunch of my knitter friends if they can “Spare a Square”. Today was the kick off to the project. Over scones, jam and tea, a few of my friends took to the needles to help me finish this blanket. I am so looking forward to having a blanket knit by my friends using yarn that was dyed by some friends. :)

Nov 25/13 Update, this crowdsourced project is coming along. I have 33 out of 42 squares completed with another 8 that are out there. So far I’ve had 19 friends knit or agree to knit me a square! I also have a few friends who agreed to help me sew this together. I am hoping I can finish this in winter 2014.
