Just when I thought the baby epidemic was slowing down, it has been picked right back up.

I am planning on making a few quick knit toys that I can send as gifts. This is attempt one - an elephant that will turn into a rattle.

So far i’ve added on a few extra increase rows, so the main body will be 48 sts. Looking forward to see how it will turn out.

April 14, 2010. I finally finished this last night. It is stuffed with a polyfill made from recycled plastic bottles. To make a rattle, I filled a plastic egg container (you know, the kind you can put a loonie into a machine and get a prize in a plastic egg) with rice, taped it together and added it with the filling.

If I was to make this again, I would definitely use a needle size smaller. The stuffing is visible in sections.

All in all, it’s adorable.
