16/07/2011 - Started this little monkey for an upcoming little monkey. After a rainy day of knitting, he’s off to a good start with the two body pieces & the base completed.

04/09/2011 - Finally the monkey is finished! This took a little longer than i expected, mainly because the finishing was so involved. That and i had to re-sew things due to a leg that went on wonky and so on.

My best friend specifically asked me to knit this Monkey pattern for her new little one because she thought it would be funny to make me knit a banana. I hate bananas. I did start to make the banana but it was coming out rather phallic and didn’t really add anything to the monkey so I stopped. Regardless, I think he’s a pretty adorable little monkey.

If i were going to do this pattern again, i would definitely use a smaller needles size. There are a few parts on the monkey where you can see the stuffing through. As for the yarn, they are perfect monkey colours but i found that it started to pill a bit after working with it. I used used a sweater shaver when he was done, but it made me wonder how this was going to wear. Not sure i’d use this yarn again.
