Notes

I’ve been wanting to knit this pattern for a while. It is for a good friend who just had a baby.

Only 4 months later and he’s finally done! Phew! I was a little concerned while knitting him that the body was too short and the arms too long, but after he was assembled, it totally worked. I think he turned out really well. He is cute and cuddly and his long arms will be good for dragging.

This yarn is super soft and feels like a teddy bear. I really hope it wears well. It was a little difficult to knit with in that if you dropped a stitch, it was hard to find it. But the yarn was forgiving for mistakes. If I made this pattern again with this yarn, I would omit the moss stitch pattern on the ears and the paws, since it is hard to see with the fuzz.

The only major change I made to this pattern was in the scarf. Instead of knitting a million short rows, I knit the scarf lengthwise to save time.

Nov 28, 2010 Over a year after I gave the bear to Angus and apparently he loves it. He sleeps with him, carries him around all the time, and as the photo shows, he even feeds him waffles. Adorable!
