Notes

Special shipment $3.99 balls bought during 30% off sale.

Bought this yarn to make dad an afghan for Christmas 2012. He lives in Nanaimo in view of the ocean so I thought the colourway appropriate.

Found this pattern and it said it was quick and it is but way more time than the 4 1/2 hours mentioned and I’m a fast crocheter. For me it works out to about 2 1/2 hours per ball and you hold two balls together.

Used 8 balls, two strands held together and crocheted at the same time so really I only crocheted 4 complete balls.

Finished size was 43” x 52” but the throw was really stretchy so it could grow larger. I didn’t measure gauge so it’s possible the throw would have worked out larger if I had checked.

I liked the hand-feel of this doubled yarn and stitch. The throw is heavy, soft and springy and just something that is nice to cuddle up in.

Photos taken at night with a flash.
