I’m going to use this pattern to make some mickey heads to add to hats for the family Disney trip.

I changed this pattern up a bit. it called for 3 rounds of double crochet but that was going to be too big for my hats. so I did 2 rounds of double crochet (12 then 24) to make the main circle, then I made scallops for the ears out of 6 double crochets across 2 stitches bracketed by a single crochet on either side to give them a smoother transition.
hat dimension I have decided on is 48 stitches around. I used the top down hat to get that dimension then am doing the remainder from the edge up.
knit 1X1 ribbing for 3 rounds, 1 round of st in main color, switch to accent for 3 rounds, then back to main after 5 inches from edge start decreases. decrease every other round. cute little hat that fits kids or adults finished in about 2 hours.
I decided that the black mickey head didn’t show well enough on the blue hat so I stitched it on with white, then decided that looked very nice and added the white stitching to all the other hats too.
Yes, I made 14 hats. which probably means it will be warm and sunny all vacation long, and I’m OK with that!
