2015-10-02 Tools
I’m starting with white accent yarn and a 5.0 mm hook for the chain and first sc row. I’m a loose crocheter, so I’m then switching to a 3.75 mm hook to keep the stitches neater and less open, for this size cotton yarn.
On row 5, I am starting the main color. On that row only, I’m only using 1 ch in the shells in order to have a less ruffled appearance.
2015-10-11 Slight modifications
I am working the main body with more rows. So I added 3 rows main color, 1 row contrast, and another row main color.
For the final bottom edging, I used a 5 dc shell in the main color.
I’m using the alternate instructions of adding a sc edging on the sides and neckline, in the main color, with two 3 chain button loops on the yoke.
I’m using pearly white flat buttons, which allows it to be worn with the buttons in front or back.
2015-10-11 Completed measurements
Shoulder to neckline one (1) inch.
Neckline to hem 10 inches (tunic length).
Circumference at underarm 18 inches.
Moving on to accessories. Hopefully they won’t take as long. I had intended this for my new niece, but since the injury I haven’t been able to work quickly and she was bigger than this dress before I finished. :-(
I’ll save it for a future gift to someone.
2017-09-17 My Annual Favorites List for 2015
I’m adding this to my annual favorites list. I didn’t get it done in time for the gift I intended, but I love how this pattern turned out. It’s lovely in this cotton and I’ll definitely work on other sizes and make more for gifts.
