2015-11-19 Fleece prepared

I used the Edge Perfect blade to prepare the fleece for the edging.

I could use the 18” leftover yardage for: travel pillow, seatbelt pads, sleeping cap, jacket, lovey blanket, or toy?

Scraps and trimmings were saved for future toy stuffings.

2015-11-21 Foundation Edge

Hook 3.5 mm for the beginning sc overcast foundation edge and a 5.0 mm hook for the following row, both with medium rose.

2015-12-10 Bigger shells

I’m using a 6.5 mm hook for the final round, in blush pink. The larger hook seems to let the shell stitches work up fuller and straighter, instead of tight and leaning.

I used sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc; this adds a triple to make the shell taller and closer together to fill in better over the chain bar.

It also makes it curl up a bit like a spoon because the stitches bend. I’ll steam and press/block the edge when I’m finished.

(Edit to add:) Oops! I forgot to block this. Ah well, it’ll steam block the first time it’s washed and dried.

2017-01-31 Every child’s blanket becomes a tent

This was made for my baby niece in California. My brother says she LOVES it, and brings it to him to play with like a tent. I’m so glad she likes it.
