Notes

Fancy homemade shoestrings!

I paid a cobbler to add grommets to two pair of very plain summer sandals, white and black.

For the white pair, I made 4 simple crocheted chains about 30” long, using a 4.5 mm hook. I used a little Fray Check on the ends as faux aglets.

Now my sandals won’t fall off!

Later I can make other cord lengths to wear in slightly different styles.

I need to pick up some black cotton in an appropriate weight, hopefully with a little sparkle.

I could only get to the closest craft store, so I got plain black size 3 cotton thread. I’ll be using a 4.0 mm hook.

All done! I made the chains 100 stitches long, which was about 1 meter (39 inches). So these tie behind my ankle.
