Notes

Charted pattern is easy to follow because the key is right below the chart. After a couple of repeats I didn’t have to look at the chart too much anyway except for the cable symbols. For those I had to look at the key every time. To me cable symbols are like vectors that we studied in high school physics. For the life of me I couldn’t “get” vectors and I seem to have a similar disconnect with cable symbols so having the chart right there was much appreciated.

I made this for a larger person so I knit to 24” before the ribbing. After blocking the total length is 27”. I think it could have been a bit longer still.

Next time I will look up how to make really finished-looking buttonholes but these came out OK for a first attempt at them. I used smaller buttons which I found here so only bound off 3 sts for each buttonhole. I followed this video for my bind off at the end. It doesn’t flare yet it is stretchy and follows the ribbing.

CO 36 and added seed stitch edge. Maybe I should have done the buttonhole end in seed stitch too. Oh well, next time.
