Notes

I had a lot of fun with this! I am having to restrain myself from starting another right away. This is for my SIL. Almost 2 years ago she gave me a magazine of all crocheted afghans and mentioned that she liked the Kumasi throw, which has 10 colors. When this pattern came out earlier this year I thought she would like it too. ETA: She does like it, and so does Damon (3rd photo).

Did not do gauge swatch; my gauge was apparently smaller. 8-( My squares and octagons measured only 8” across, although they did stretch a little after being joined and laundered. My finished blanket is 51” long x 40” wide.

I was surprised, this didn’t use a lot of yarn at all! Can easily be a great stashbuster project.

Used JAYG throughout. The only part that took some figuring were the corners and triangles T8-T10. I made a photo tutorial for those.

On round 1 of border I needed to not follow the pattern; I put a sc in the ch-1 spaces before and after the triangles. Maybe this was because I used JAYG, I don’t know. It was the only way I could get round 3 to come out even.
