Link to video on trapping floats
I can’t find my notes on this!
Pretty sure I followed the pattern except I knit the hat longer to make it slouchy and used a different top. I wanted the top to be flattish, so I divided into 8 sections and used some directions from the internet for decreasing for a circle.
The chart was hand drawn on a graph from an alphabet I found somewhere online for cross stitch fonts. The whole “RESIST” was 68 stitches, and that’s why I was happy to find this pattern with 160 stitches around.
I did this in a faketarsia way, I cut each line of blue after completing it in the normal fair isle way, wrapping floats. This left me with 22 loose ends to deal with, but it sure beat messing with bobbins. If I wasn’t so lazy, I would’ve found a nice motif to complete the band around the whole hat.
I’m including a photo of the graph. If anyone wants to use it, feel free, but it would be nice to get a howdy on your project page if you do.
