Taygete ~ pronounced Tay-EE-jet-ay

This is wonderful easy knit and one I could recommend to a beginner lace knitter. I have enjoyed having a portable project; one that for the most part did not require much pattern/chart reading, and I could pick up and put down without forgetting what I am up to. The garter section was an endurance test, but a few evenings of power knitting meant I could soon tackle the lace section.

The lace section itself is not complicated but did require my concentration. It didn’t take long however to start being able to “read” the lace and I could tell easily tell if I had made a mistake before finishing the end of the row.

Once blocked the shawl measures 90 inches long and is 25 inches at it’s widest. It grew! But I love it and can easily wrap it around neck my several times. Bring on winter!
