Half knit, half crochet! He is a FrankenAmerica Ball.

The shield half is taken almost directly from Ahooka’s awesome Captain America coaster pattern. My only changes are in making the stripes slightly wider and changing the increases to form a half-sphere.

I need to keep adapting this pattern - I’m not completely satisfied with how my crocheted star came out. I think I need a smaller hook, or thicker yarn, or to felt it a bit, or something. I’m open to suggestions! :)
