This bird has quite an intricate structure, made from yarn and stuffing and two different kinds of modelling wire. Quite an experiment, and I am not yet sure whether I’ll be able to transform that into a pattern.
Inside the neck there is pipe cleaner, bent in half for the beak, and wound with black and pink yarn.
The legs are made from lengths of modelling wire, bent in half for the toes and wound with pink yarn. The wire also extends into the body in order to give the body more stability; it was quite a tricky operation to get the wire into place.
Also, this bird had to be mounted on a platform (I used the cover of a little box, made from fairly stable carton; this works quite well) in order to stand
It feels rather fragile: I honestly don’t know how long it will survive. I told my mother to be careful, so we’ll see.
Anyway, all in all, I am quite happy with it; it turned out quite nice for a prototype.
