I did 14 total rounds for each square (2 rounds of aran and 12 rounds of main color) and used the join-as-you-go method here: https://thecrochetswirl.com/joining-granny-squares-join-a...

After joining, I added 2 more rounds of granny stitches in aran. Then 1 round of sc blo with the claret.
