I based this scarf on the pattern Splash of Color Washcloth with a few modifications.

I started with ch251, sc in 2nd ch and each ch across for a total of 250 sts, turn to begin pattern.

For the first pattern row (purple), I started with ch3 then (dc2tog over the next 2 sts, ch1) across to last st, dc in last st.

For each successive row (in a different color), I started with a standing dc, then followed the pattern for R2, placing the last dc into the standing dc.

My color placement for the pattern rows was:
purple, gold, green
purple, gold, green
gold, purple green
gold, purple
I finished with 1 row of sc in purple. Then added fringe.
