i am getting about 7 stitches = 1”

so it is taking waaay longer because of all the slipped stitches. the lace is not so distinct because my yarn is solid in color. but it is working up into a very warm and manly looking hat.

i didn’t like the seed stitch edge, so when i finished the hat, i cut it off, picked up the stitches and did a 2x2 ribbing.
