Gauge:
28st (7 per inch) using 3.25mm
32st (8 per inch) using 3mm
40inch bust plus ease = size k
Did not go up a needle size for colourwork - may regret that. Fabric felt too loose with the larger needle. Going down a needle size on the body meant I would have to work out the stitch count again to get gauge and to get a good fit. Just went with the 3mm as originally planned.
Body is working out to have a lot of ease. It looked ok when I tried it on…it will also shrink a bit with blocking.

The short rows on the lower body are a bit unclear. The pattern doesn’t specify how to close the gaps that will appear if you follow the instructions exactly as they are written. Had to tink back and used German short rows.
Did not like the look of the dip in the back of the jumper after the short rows and pulled them out. Opted to omit them completely.
Tried the folded hem but it kept curling up even after blocking. Tried going down in needle size (2.5mm) when knitting the hem. Cast off all the stitches and will sew the hem down after blocking rather than sewing the live stitches as I normally do. After doing it the long way once already and having to unpick the whole thing once again, I’m ready to be done with this jumper now.
Did not sew the folded hem down, instead knitted the last inch or so in contrasting colour and allowed it to roll.
