Inspired by a hat I saw on pinterest, I just combined a basic beanie pattern with a graph of the Super Mario mushroom that I found on Google images.
The yarn was worsted weight from stash, most likely Paton’s Beehive Canadiana and I cast on 96 stitches, did about one inch of 2X2 ribbing then 4 rows of stocking stitch before beginning the mushrooms. The graph I used was 16 rows by 16 stitches so I had five repeats with 3 stitches in between except for one space had four stitches.
