I wanted to try something new, but also something that would’t take ages to complete. So I searched for clothing for teddys and stumbled upon Sancho. The yellow of the sweater was quite alluring and I hadn’t done cable knitting before, so this seemed quite the project that I was looking for. (To be clear here, I just knitted the raglan, not Sancho himself)
Without gauge or overthinking I just started. At the beginning I had some trouble decrypting the pattern and determining whats now the cabling, and whats tha raglan, but from row to row it made more sense.
At the end I was rewarded with quite some nice Merino Raglan Cable Work which fits Marvin really well. (To be honest, it was planned to be a sweater for JC, but turned out to be to small for him. But don’t tell either of them.)
Learnings:
- Cabling wasn’t as complicated as i expected. Though i think this was quite an easy cabling and there are much more complicated ones out there
- Raglan: still not quite satisfied with understanding how raglan works. In theory I know for example, that if I ad another raglan row, the sweater gets wider, but also the sleeves get wider. Have to think about this again.
