The specification was: “it must not itch”. So I went to the yarnfestival “Kielgeholt” in Duisburg and searched for a non itchy bulky yarn and found this lovely piece at Elkes booth.

I can’t remember where i stumbled upon this “Two by Two” pattern, but it seemed easy enough for a beginner like me, so I gave it a try.

Not quite the right yarn and needle as described in the pattern, but i think it worked out well.

Ended up with 72 instead of the 112 stitches for the round and it really fits well.

Only thing thats not quit fine is the tip of the hat, which is kinda a bit too tipsy. Perhaps blocking will help here
