Cast on 28sts.
Work 10 rows in garter stitch. Making a buttonhole on rows 5&6.

Next work 36rows in your desired pattern, working first and last 4sts of border in garter stitch, and doing buttonholes on rows 15&16 and 30&31.

Next work 20 rows in garter stitch.

Next work 36rows in your desired pattern, working first and last 4sts of border in garter stitch.

Next work 10 rows in garter stitch.

Next work 28rows in st st. ( 1 row knit 1 row purl ) This is to be the hood. Cast off.

Join hood seam along the top and pick up 40 stitches along front of hood with right side facing, and knit 2x2 rib for 14 rows then cast off.

Fold rib to inside of hood and sew in place.

Sew buttons on to correspond with buttonholes, and decorate as desired.
