My friend Helen from the Shenandoah Valley Textile Guild and Museum told me about this gorgeous lace shawl she had seen a friend wear at a spinning get together. She said she felt the pattern was more complicated than she preferred to knit herself, but that she REALLY wanted to have a shawl like that! My curiosity was definitely peaked! 3/1/2014 Update: Helen loves her shawl! I took it over to her today and she was thrilled with it! I have some pics to upload of Helen happily modeling her new shawl! While I was there, she also took me out to the field to meet her four lovely Llamas: Sugar, Autumn, Pearl, and Violet. They are so funny and adorable! They are Helen’s beloved pets; and in return for her loving care and affection, they give her their wool to spin. I have a feeling I’ll be back again to visit Helen and her four lovely Llamas!

A note about the yarn: The Louet Gems Opal yarn is pure merino wool 100%, machine washable and dryable, sport weight (fine), worsted spun.
