Jan 1, 2010: These are substantially modified from the mittens on page 113 of Anna Zilboorg’s book “Magnificent Mittens.”

Jan 10, 2010: I’m still in the design phase on these! But so excited! Can’t wait to start knitting! I’m graphing out my own color design, and also widening and lengthening the mittens to fit my husbands large hands!

Jan 18, 2010: Knitting away!

Jan 30, 2010: Just about done with the first mitten! I widened it by six stitches on each side. I inserted the thumb after knitting row 41 instead of row 34.

Feb 2, 2010: Finished the first mitten! I think I made it a little bit too big. Hopefully lining them will help! Now on to the second…

Feb 10, 2010: Started the second mitten today!

March 12, 2010: I had to knit a third mitten because I knitted the first one way to loosely - it’s enormous! Makes a good oven mitt though! Now I’m almost finished the third mitten and looking forward to lining these!

March 14, 2010: Finished weaving in the ends and lined one mitten!

March 16, 2010: Starting the lining on the second mitten! Almost finished!

March 21, 2010: Finished! :)
