I wanted to make my sister a pair of red cashmere mittens with a cable pattern. I couldn’t find a pattern I liked so I wrote my own pattern using Ann Budd’s book, The Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns, and Cables and Arans Harmony Guide for reference.
I based it on 6 stitch gauge (a looser gauge to compensate for more stitches needed for cable pattern) and size women’s medium from Ann Budd’s book.
I used the Medallion Moss Cable stitch pattern.
I took extensive notes and may write up the pattern. Still deciding.
I love the mittens and the yarn!
