I wanted a washable version, so I used an acrylic fingering weight yarn from Michael’s which gave me an airy feel. I used a cotton/acrylic blend for the body. Comfortable to wear and washable.
When I picked up sts around the neck edge I picked up every other stitch at the sleeves.
My sleeves gauge was tighter, 18sts/25 rows in 4”. Typical for me with a small circumference.
