1 May: My gauge is a little small and I like my sweaters a little longer, so to prevent width-stretching leading to length-shortening I decided to make the 51 instead of the 47.

Measuring % done as “skeins of yarn knitted,” which is hopefully kind of close. We’ll see how much spare yarn was built into the pattern and how my gauge being off could affect yarn usage.

11 inches on the body!! more than halfway to the arms.

8 June: made phony seams, moved left front and back to stitch holder (on WS row 2)

19 June: working on right front, during decreases (k2 tog, k2), I repeated five MORE times (6x total) to get to correct stitch count.

2 July: finished back and mattress seamed back and front. I have a vest!!

8 October: Blocking is magic. The whole thing stretched in length just a bit, the lace opened up a little, and the button bands aren’t all twisty anymore.
