I have made many of these jars, adapting each to the size and shape of the jar. I usually use 4 ply (sport weight) mercerised cotton, however as this project was for new crocheters I decided to work it in DK (light worsted) instead. It does give a different effect to the 4ply version, but still works just as well.

These jars are perfect to give as a special gift celebrating a new baby, wedding or other event: write down your wishes for the person and pop it in the jar.

After the celebrations they can be used for tea lights, as a vase, storage or simply as a pretty jar. Regardless of the purpose, it will always remind you of those special wishes.
