I am just drafting this pattern up for my beginners group. I try to teach different stitches in a way that they have a finished item, yet know how to make much bigger/more involved pieces.

In this case, knowing how to create and adapt the ripple stitch can lead to any number of designs, including blankets, home/personal accessories and gifts. And of course they have a cool coin purse/specs case that they can make and show off for more instant gratification.

It was very quick and easy, perfect for this group.
