Notes

Saw the stitch pattern on Facebook and wanted to try. It’s two rounds of each color alternating, in seed stitch which pulls colors from other rows in purl bumps.

I cast on 64 stitches, using 42 for the heel short row section.

Using both strands in the heel from the pattern listed above in Eye of Partridge heel stitch. Worked three wedges.

For part of the foot I used the pattern stitch on the instep and Stockinette on the sole. As my socks often wear out under the ball of my foot first, I went back to using both yarns there, and used Eye of Partridge heel stitch on the sole. I ran out of the colored yarn at the point where toe decreasing began, so I was using two strands of cream for the rest. I also often get holes above the big toenail so I wanted to stay with double yarn.

The result is a strong sock that’s not very comfortable. I had fun with this experiment.
