Notes

The first one of these I made was wool and 2x2 rib as the pattern called for. I found it much too coarse in scale for a baby. I guess Debbie Bliss has written so many versions of this she needed to change it up. I choose seed stitch for this one knowing that it would spread. It turns out that my sleeve caps are 12” so the armholes will be 6”. Glad my mom taught me to always make the sleeves first. I worked them at the same time like Mom taught me so they are the same size. I did the same with the front and back to the arm hole bind off. Now I am working on the back only while the front is on hold. I chose cotton because the child lives in a warmer place.
February 7: front and back complete. Ran out of the ball of pink 95% of the way up the back so switched to white for the last inch. On the front switched to white for the last 2 inches to ensure I will have enough pink for the seams. Have completed half of the shawl Collar increases. February 13. I did a poor job seaming but I just wanted it to be done.
