The written pattern you find on Facebook is not easy to understand so it took me a while to get started. I think this pattern comes from a Russian lace book because I saw another version on a blog, which I liked very much, and I might try it later. Made by Chippzan
Copied from Orchardbranch’s notes:
Notes on English version of instructions:
Row 1: Make the 19 dc in the loop, not in the outer ring of each stitch. Your dcs should cover most of the loop but you should leave part of it uncovered. Take a look at some of the finished projects in Ravelry to see examples.
Row 2: dc in each stitch of the previous row.
Row 4: the ch 10 doesn’t seem right, but it is; trust the pattern!
Row 7: When you do the ch1,dc row, you bypass the ch5 loops of the previous row -- you just skip right over them altogether.
Notes from mjotread:
Notes for mods beginning with row of dc,ch1,dc groups:
Used ch7 instead of ch10 loops, ch4 x 3 instead of ch5 x 3…on subsequent rows, used ch3 loops between fans.
Used 11 dc into ch7 loops instead of 10, to make it symmetrical (“must have symmetry!”) NOTE: I TRIED THAT AND IT MADE EVERYTHING WRONG IN LATER ROWS - MAYBE I DID NOT READ THE MOD CORRECTLY. I had to rip it out anyway because the yarn got all tangled up (NEVER PULL FROM THE CENTER OF RED HEART UNFORGETTABLE! I had forgotten that. DO NOT FORGET!) so I started over and did 10 dc this time, and it’s working out great. Using 7ch instead of ch10, and using ch4 instead of ch5. I think the holes are too big when you use heavier yarn.
I am thinking an I hook might be better but I’ll stick with H because I don’t want it to stretch way out.
