a test for Kirsten…
indigo with a black spark…
reinforced softitude…
Making this Kyuu was an exceptionally beautiful experience, a bit like a looong stark walk in the earliest hour of the morning or sloooowly sipping a cup of evening-tea on the porch surrounded by hot summer steam after a rainshower,…
There is something outworldish and sublime in these moments where -as you contemplate, you can almost touch the soul of the world and you are simply grateful for its beauty…
The pattern (seamless !), the actual knitting, the yarn-combination and colour (shibori-type-indigo) all together gave me a feeling of fluidity and balance.
The resulting garment is clever, modular and contemporary. Cache-coeur, gathered whimsy, de/refolded jacket, penguin tux (tied behind my back).
Mine will be a ‘vetement vivant’, I’ve decided to wash the garment only very gently, and so the cashmere has not yet bloomed fully, but I really really like the way it is at the moment, the silk stainless sparkles through like stars in the night and the fabric is super light, smooth and drapey. I know that as I wear Kyuu, it will change and become slightly more rich and fluffy, that will be yet another interesting dimension…
A warm thank you to Kirsten for in letting me test this beautiful Kyuu, I could touch the sublime!
