I also used some rubber tubing instead of scrap yarn; this made it a lot easier to put the stitches back on a needle at the end.

Cast on 128 stitches

Knit cowl motif for 7.5”

When finishing the cowl motif and repeating round 1 one last time, it would be smart to add a lifeline so that it’s easier to pick up some of these stitches when forming the channel for i-cord.

When making the holes for the i-cord to pass through, I narrowed the distance between the holes to 12 stitches. I mostly just eye-balled it.

I had each of the holes fall over a pair of purl stitches for a symmetrical look.

I made the i-cord early on in the project so that when I folded the ribbing over, I could just have the i-cord already in place. This meant I didn’t have to fish it through later.

I used an i-cord maker for the first time. Super fast and looks great!

The finished product is cozy, warm, and soft. Although the directions for the folding over of the rib were not super clear, I still enjoyed this pattern and could see myself making another in the future.
