Notes

It seems I am destined to knit or crochet green things at this time of year as I am eager for spring and some colors besides brown! This yarn is too beautiful for words and I just had to have it. I wanted a squishable shawl (garter ridges a must!) but with a little bit of something else for interest. This pattern is a perfect fit.

Ptica is the name of a Slovenian pastry roll that my grandmother Rose made when I was a little girl. I was told the word means “little bird.” Taken from the meaning of the word “Nurmilintu,” I decided to translate the words into Slovenian.

I’m on my last section of lace. It has taken me a while to get back to this… I’m preparing to put my house on the market and taking the big leap to PhD land.

House is under contract - yay! So back to this WIP. After completing the last section of lace, I decided to use as much of this gorgeous yarn as possible before going to the picot bind off. I may add beads (just got the Verna-X Beadle) and do a beaded picot bind off.

I ended up doing a half sized garter section before doing the beaded picot bind off using the method called for in the pattern. I really like it. Just needs blocking!
