Long tail cast on.

I started according to pattern, but the kfb and those edges! So I went back to the gallery and with some modifications, I’m feeling much more comfortable.

I started over (no biggie, only had 6 rows done) and added 2 more stitches (selvedge) for that lovely braided looking edge. Finish row by k1, turn, then move yarn to back; pick up the other color from under the last color, and knit in pattern with the following mods for the increases: instead of kfb, I knitted 5 after the decrease (k2tg) and then a m1L. At the end of each row, I used a kfb on the next to last stitch, then knit the selvedge stitch and turned. On the the wrong side, do the same.

(Note to self: next time try a m1r).

At approximately 1/2 way (based on repeating yarn colors) it appears I will likely end up with a scarf that is 65-70” long.

Planning on going until the yarn runs out.

I grafted the live stitches to the cast on edge, just above the first “bumps” and did the slipped edge stitches last. Just held the first loop with a stitch marker. I love how this turned out and I learned a lot on reading garter stitches through increases and decreases. Fun project!
