Knitted 1st swatch today on size 8 needles, roughed up the dry pre-blocked swatch (really stretched and pulled it in all directions) and got a gauge of:
16.5 stitches = 4 inches and 22 rows = 4 inches.

Hand washed and blocked gently with pins:
16 stitches = 4 inches and 22 rows = 4 inches.

Machine washed and laid flat to dry:
16.5 stitches = 4 inches and 23 rows = 4 inches

Knitted 2nd swatch today on size 7 needles, roughed up the dry pre-blocked swatch (really stretched and pulled it in all directions) and got a gauge of:
17 stitches = 4 inches and 23 rows = 4 inches.

Hand washed and blocked gently with pins:
16 stitches = 4 inches and 21.5 rows = 4 inches.

Machine washed and laid flat to dry:
17 stitches = 4 inches and 23 rows = 4 inches.

Knitted 3rd swatch today on size 6 needles, roughed up the dry pre-blocked swatch (really stretched and pulled it in all directions) and got a gauge of:
19.5 stitches = 4 inches and 25 rows = 4 inches.

Hand washed and blocked gently with pins:
18 stitches = 4 inches and 24 rows = 4 inches.

Machine washed and laid flat to dry:
19 stitches = 4 inches and 25 rows = 4 inches.

Hung diagonally for a month:
18.5 stitches = 4 inches and 25 rows = 4 inches.

After knitting the first section 3 times and wondering why it looks so shitty, I’ve realized that this pattern does not want me to make it.
