This pattern is lovely. But I don’t get the point of cropped sweaters with 3/4 sleeves. Maybe its because there’s hardly “autumn” over here, so it makes no sense.

I added quite a lot of length to both the sleeves and the body. Also because I was afraid of running out of yarn, I finished the body colorwork, then did the collar, and then the sleeves, and since I thankfully had enough red yarn for the body afterwards, I even got to make it properly long. Mods below.

It might have been nicer with the colorwork at the edge of the sweater, but I actually really like it a lot right under the breasts - a bit like a corset, rather than as a belt (also better because I have wide hips, but a smaller waist).

Sleeve mods

  • 5cm into sleeve - decrease from 108 to 96 stitches (resulted in somewhat puffy sleeves, looks weird. Do not recommend!)
  • Start colorwork 8cm into sleeve. Adding length to the fairisle bits, as well as to the ribbing, because sweaters need proper sleeves, so doing two double rows of bubbles instead of one, for more length.
  • Knit 25 rows / 8cm of sleeve ribbing at end of sleeves.

Body-length mods

Added 8cm to the body before the ribbing (1.5cm).
