I believe that it is time for a terrifyingly large sock yarn mitered square blanket to get rid of all those left overs.

Hoping to make it to 425 squares (25x17) at some point in the very far future.

Five stripes, which aren’t much but are in fact 20% of the planned amount. So yeah!
Soon this will be too large for bus-knitting, which might be a problem.

Winter is coming so its back to knitting the blanket.

I guess we’ll see what happens when I reach the planned milestone of 25 rows. How much yarn is left and whether or not I can stand this project anymore by then.

Knitters play the long game. Winter of 2018 is perfectly fine with me.

Weather is finally not too hot to sit under a woolen blanket and knit is, so I’m back knitting.

22 rows. 374 squares.

Decided that the blanket needs to be 18 columns wide, so now adding another one.

Also aiming now for 25 rows. Not sure I have enough sock yarn around the house right now, but I can wait till more leftovers pile up. I mean, fuck it, I’ve been working on this blanket for three winters, I have time. Knitters play The Long Game.

24 rows done. In theory, this means that I am one row away from done with this. In reality? Well, I think I should keep knitting for a few more rows. Or columns. Or both. We shall see.

Do I keep knitting or declare this finished? Still have enough yarn to keep going for a bit.

The weather finally cooled off, so I’m back on the blanket! 19x25 squares done. Gonna go for an even 20x25 and see where 500 squares get me. Still have so many yarny bits to get rid of (and the lot just keeps growing!)

2019 is upon us and the blanket is still not done. I’m getting lazy. Set the deadline for October 2020, when I’m supposed to move into my new apartment. Hopefully both will be done sooner.

Started knitting the i-cord edge

Even bought some fluffy fleece lining to sew the whole thing onto, so I don’t have to weave in all the ends.
