I went off the pattern as far as my beginning chain. I did change the pattern repeat. I started with 2 rows of dc. Instead of every other row being dc, ch 1, dc I did 1 row of dc, a row of dc, ch 1, dc, then another row of dc. I did this for 24 rows then I worked in pattern for 17 rows then another then repeated the first 24 rows. I did a round of sc in each color for the edge.
