Having made the granny square scarf moved onto something a little more ambitious and worked my way through Caitlin Sainio’s 100 snowflake book.

My particular favourites were 50, 52, 78, 91 and a modified 100. I worked with #10 and graduated to #20 cotton. Can’t recall hooks but around those recommended for the thread. The ones with the firmer edges and fewer picots tend to work best.

Managed to give most of the better ones away. Would have preferred slightly larger flakes as they only work on a small twig decoration. Next year will try something larger with more rounds - don’t want to lose the fine lace effect.

Stiffened with spray starch - not very satisfactory as needed so much and it does not last. A dedicated stiffener is worth investing in.
