No point making the second one. Upper hand good, cuff OK but the fit of the lower hand just dreadful. Not sure the modified peasant with a thumb gusset is for me. I have slender wrists and to have enough stitches for the fingers requires an increase to the stitch count - the upper cuff is not the place! Seems I much prefer a slightly modified sore thumb or palm side thumb with a bridge. So, back to the drawing board.
Another minus point was how the pattern fell at the round join. A rework should result in an improvement. Cuff good though at 120 stitches.
Was attempting a pair with a coloured cuff to test different shades. 747 and 853 almost the same and might even try 748. I prefer the darker scarlet and the heraldic gold. Not fond of the bling strand worked into cuff cast on but will not give up on sparkle. Will try something that looks more like military braid.
Rest of hand to be worked in charcoal and off white like the test piece.

Crewel Skeins - colours a chance eBay find from a lovely lady who appears to have skeins for the whole range - envious.

Will need to try harder with tension when working three colours. The lotus has worked out to be a bit tighter than the trefoil. It was a good move to cast on and work the plaited edge on 1mm needles but should have also worked the three braids and purl boxes as well. Deep down I knew this but it is just a bit more fiddly. Serve me right for taking short cuts.
Hand circumference still a bit too big for me. Copper wire looks like a better stitch holder so not all bad.
